From Atlético Tucumán it was reported that the two-time president of the institution, Elio Giacosa, passed away this Thursday.

Giacosa was born in 1925. In addition to presiding over the club, Elio Giacosa was president of the board of directors of Banco Empresario and had a business located on Route 301.

In 2009, the former leader recalled, in a conversation with La Gaceta, that: "It was not a few times that the fans of San Martín, knowing my passion for Atlético, painted my business. They couldn't understand how someone born in La Ciudadela chose to be a fan of the opposing team". And of course, he lived on the block of San Martín.

Giacosa was in love with Deca. In the 70s, he donated 33 hectares of land to the club. Part of that land was sold. "Later I found out that part of it had been sold and that the money went somewhere else. What is no longer there, is sorely missed today," he lamented a few years ago.

On social networks, the Deca expressed: "Club Atlético Tucumán deeply regrets the death of Elio Giacosa, former president of our institution during two periods, in the years 73/74 and 79/80".
