The South Korean city of PyeongChang is the center of attention in the sports world these days. The 23rd Winter Olympics is taking place this weekend with 2900 participating athletes in seven sports, spread across 15 disciplines and 102 events.
The competition started on February 9 and will go on until the 25th of the same month. The 15 participating sports disciplines are biathlon, combined Nordic skiing, curling, ice hockey, luge, skeleton, snowboarding, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, ski jumping, speed skating, short track speed skating, and figure skating.
Since its inauguration, the 2018 Winter Olympics have offered several unforgettable images and moments. For example, in the opening event, it was surprising to see the delegations of South Korea and North Korea parading together under one flag.
Another remarkable moment was when pairs of figure skaters performed to the catchy song "Despacito". The first to use it were the South Koreans Yura Min and Alexander Gamelin. The next duo were Chinese skaters Shiyue Wang and Xinyu Liu.
