In his 30th appearance at the Dakar, Stéphane Peterhansel was not the best, but he was the most followed. Fans were expecting a victory from "Monsieur Dakar," but a delay in Uyuni did not allow it.
Despite this, the Frenchman made his mark with three stage victories and leading the race from stage 3 to 6.
The best part was seeing Peterhansel himself working as a mechanic and fixing the suspension problem in Uyuni.
The Frenchman has to thank his compatriot Cyril Despres who helped him on stage 8 and 13 to continue in the race.
It will not be a Dakar of pleasant memories for Peterhansel. Now he will have to decide his future, as Peugeot is no longer in the race.
