Rally Dakar 2018: Sébastien Loeb abandons the race
The Rally Dakar 2018 has been more extreme than many expected. Several favorites, including Frenchman Sébastien Loeb, have had to abandon the race. The pilot said goodbye in stage 5, but in a unique style, very similar to that of The Undertaker in his last fight in the WWE.
The official account of Rally Dakar on Instagram announced the pilot's withdrawal. It was due to an injury to his co-pilot Daniel Elena, who had been in pain since the start of the race.
It was in this post that Sébastien Loeb's gloves and helmet were shown. This caught the attention of many of his followers, who also follow WWE.
When The Undertaker said goodbye to his fans at WrestleMania 33, he did so by placing his hat and coat on top of the ring.
Sébastien Loeb is not the first victim of the Ica desert, which has affected the group of favorites. His teammate, Cyril Despres, on Tuesday, saw his options vanish after losing nearly 15 hours, and Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota), from Qatar, lost nearly 55 minutes.
A day of struggle ended with an abandon for @SebastienLoeb & @DanosElena on stage 5 of the #Dakar2018.
