One of the main Peruvian representatives for the Rally Dakar 2018, had an acceptable performance this Sunday finishing in the 22nd position of the second stage, which had over 260 kilometers of route through the tough dunes of Pisco and Paracas.

Nicolás Fuchs completed a total time of 4 hours, 1 minute and 24 seconds in the second stage of Dakar 2018, finishing 1 hour and 4 minutes behind the winner, Frenchman Cyril Despres. After the race, 'Nico' gave some statements to the press, stating that he feels calm despite dropping some positions, since he had finished in third place during the first day.

"A tough Rally, it was not easy. Yesterday we had a good stage, we finished in third place and today's goal was to finish the stage, which we knew was going to be tougher, and we were able to do it without any problem and that is good. This serves to get used to what the desert will be like and continue like this until Arequipa. It was a tough stage, with many ups and downs, you have to go a little smoother to get further", said Nicolás Fuchs in statements to the Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD), which covers the route of the Dakar 2018.

He also commented that being in the 22nd position in the general classification of Dakar 2018 is also good, since the race of the previous day was much shorter. Yesterday's was very short, 30 kilometers compared to 260, there is no comparison. You have to be careful with the dunes and drive with intelligence", added Nicolás Fuchs.
