Nicolás Fuchs is one of Peru's main candidates for the Dakar 2018.

On board his new Borgward BX7DKR prototype, pilot Nicolás Fuchs along with his Argentine co-pilot Fernando Mussano left the starting podium of the Dakar 2018 Rally, located in the Pentagonito, amidst a great ovation from the audience who expects to see the Peruvian among the protagonists of the world's most extreme race. It is worth mentioning that the pilot received the greetings and support from President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.

The Peruvian delegation of competitors, led by Nicolás Fuchs, hopes to have a great performance in the most extreme rally on the planet, which will have a first stage with a link from Lima to Pisco of 242 kilometers and a timed section of only 31 to start this Dakar 2018.

After debuting and finishing in 12th place in 2017, Nicolás Fuchs aims to finish among the top 10 in the car category, where he will compete against rally monsters such as Sebastien Loeb, Stephen Peterhansel, and Nasser Al-Attiyah in this Dakar 2018.

When asked about his goals in the Dakar 2018, Nicolás Fuchs was clear. "We have a great car, we have tested it and it runs very well, it is very powerful, with a lot of horsepower, and we hope to have a great race. If we can do better than last year, that's welcome, but the important thing is to reach Córdoba, where the finish line is on January 20. It's a tremendous joy to be the home team and I think the first part in Peru is going to be difficult because the dunes are challenging," he said.
