There is less and less time for the start of the Dakar Rally. The competition will start in our country on January 6th and a group of national drivers are already ready to give their best during the 14 stages of the world's most extreme rally.
Peruvian driver Nicolás Fuchs will make his debut behind the wheel of a Borgward BX7 after finishing this year in twelfth place, the best performance of a Peruvian rookie in the rally raid. "I would like to be among the top 10, we will try to do it and not make mistakes to get ahead," said the experienced runner to RPP Noticias.
"Peru is one of the most challenging Dakar rallies that there has been in Latin America due to the number of stages in the dunes. Talking to many drivers, they say that the Peruvian dunes are more complicated," added Nicolás Fuchs about the Peruvian desert, the great protagonist in this race.
Meanwhile, driver Diego Weber is also preparing to race in the Dakar Rally 2018 with his Toyota Hilux. "We are happy to take advantage of starting from Peru with our dunes," said the runner.
"We hope that the Dakar continues in Peru because that would bring much more private investment to motorsport," said Diego Weber, who will compete in his third Dakar Rally. A total of 23 national drivers will represent the country in this competition.
