Sergio Pérez, Mexican F1 Driver, Will Auction a Signed Helmet to Aid Earthquake Victims
Mexican driver Sergio Pérez is set to auction off a helmet signed by Formula One drivers from around the world. The proceeds from the auction will go towards aiding those affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Mexico on September 7th and 19th, resulting in a total of 442 fatalities and extensive material damages.
Pérez, who races for Force India, emphasized the urgent need for resources in his country to recover from the earthquakes and announced his contribution with "a very special gesture".
"I will donate a helmet signed by all the drivers to my foundation, which will be auctioned off to help those affected," said Pérez, also known as 'Checo' Pérez.
