The Autonomous University of Coahuila Laguna Unit will celebrate its sixteenth edition of the UAdeC 5K University Athletic Race on Sunday, September 17, with space for one thousand competitors.
The route will start in front of the UA de C coordination, on Revolución boulevard and Comonfort street, with the finish line at Plaza Mayor.
The start will be at 7:30 am for the 5-kilometer distance and at 8:30 am for the 1-kilometer distance, which will have only one open category for men and women.
For the 5K, the categories are: University (any age, students and workers of UAdeC), Youth (up to 19 years old), Open (20 to 39 years old), Master (40 to 49 years old), Veterans (50 to 59 years old), Veterans Plus (60 and over), People with disabilities (any age), Wheelchair (any age).
The cost is 100 pesos for students, UAdeC personnel, and people with disabilities, and 150 pesos for the general public.
For the University category, UAdeC students must present a copy of the registration form and valid ID, workers must present a pay stub or ID, and other runners must present a copy of their official identification.
Registrations are open at the Sports Department of the Torreón Unit Coordination, on Revolución boulevard and Comonfort street, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
At the Municipal Sports Institute of Torreón and at the Venustiano Carranza Forest with Yayo, from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The capacity is for one thousand runners in the 5K and 1K categories.
Each runner will be entitled to a Dry Fit shirt, a collection medal with the letter "C", an official number, electronic chip loan, time certificate, and recovery kit.
The chip and numbers will be delivered on Saturday, September 16 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Coordinación's Cámara Theater.
In the 5K race, the top three UAdeC men will be awarded 1,500 pesos for first place, 1,000 pesos for second place, and 500 pesos for third place.
In the women's category, the first place will receive 1,500 pesos and the second place will receive 1,000 pesos. For general runners, there will be 1,500 pesos for first place, 1,000 pesos for second place, and 500 pesos for third place, both in men's and women's categories.
There will be a cloakroom, restrooms, supplies, traffic safety, medical services, and at the end of the race, there will be a raffle of over 100 gifts among all participants.
