Sergio Pérez's race at the European Grand Prix
The career of Sergio Pérez in the European Grand Prix held in Azerbaijan came to an end in lap 41 when his teammate Esteban Ocon, who was trying to overtake him, collided with him in lap 21.
In a very accident-filled race, in which Max Verstappen had previously retired, the Force India team had announced to the Mexican driver that his tires were in critical condition.
Checo was in third place when the incident occurred and dropped to 15th place. Due to the poor condition of his car, he had to go to the pits to fix it.
He rejoined in lap 23 after 20 minutes. However, due to the poor condition of his car, he definitively left the race in lap 41, ending his streak of 37 consecutive races with at least one point.

The race is stopped
The European Grand Prix was neutralized for the first time in lap 13 with the entry of the safety car to clear the track of the Toro Rosso of Daniyl Kvyat.
The safety car remained on the track from lap 13 to 17. But after the restart of the race, the presence of bodywork and engine debris on the asphalt forced another entry of the safety car.
The race was restarted in lap 20, but a collision between the two Force India cars of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon forced another interruption.
However, the presence of numerous debris on the track forced the red flag.
This is the first red flag since the Australian Grand Prix in March 2016, caused by an accident between Fernando Alonso from Spain and Esteban Gutiérrez from Mexico.
