Sanford Institute to hold the fourth edition of the 5K and 10K Family Champions Athletic Race 2017
On the next Sunday, the fourth edition of the 5K and 10K Family Champions Athletic Race 2017, organized by the Sanford Institute for the entire athletic community of La Laguna and its surroundings, will take place.
Violeta Ayup, director of the educational institution, officially presented the call on Wednesday in the presence of Hector Reyes, sports coordinator, as well as Alfredo Alemán Baños, technical director of the competition, who highlighted the fast and safe route that takes place on Juan Agustín Espinoza Avenue, the Old Road to San Pedro, Juan Pablo II Boulevard, and the roundabout.
The hydration points will be located at kilometers 1.3, 2.9, 4.1, and 5. There will be a luggage storage service and road safety throughout the course.
The participants of the 5K will complete one lap of the circuit, while those participating in the 10K will complete two laps. The start and finish line will be located in front of the school facilities, situated at 2151 Grand Painters Boulevard in Residencial Las Etnias.
The registration fee is 180 pesos for adults and 120 pesos for children. The children will have separate races at distances of 100 meters (3-5 years), 200 meters (6-7 years), 400 meters (8-9 years), and 400 meters (10-12 years).
The registration points are located at the Innova Sport stores, at the Venustiano Carranza Forest, and at the school offices.
The categories for the 10K race are: Open (up to 39 years old), Master (40-49 years old), Veterans (50-59 years old), and Veterans Plus (60 years old and above). For the 5K race, the categories are: Youth (up to 19 years old) and Open (20 years old and above).
Awards
In the 10-kilometer race, the first place winner in each category will receive 2,000 pesos in each branch, the second place winner 1,500 pesos, and the third place winner 1,000 pesos.
In the 5K race, the top three overall winners in each branch will be awarded 1,500 pesos for the first place, 1,000 pesos for the second place, and 500 pesos for the third place.
In addition, there will be a diploma and medal for the top three winners in each category.
