UMass Lowell River Hawks
The River Hawks got off to a pretty nice 5-1 start this year. The wins in that time came versus Rivier, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Saint Peter’s and Stonehill. Since then it’s been a 2-3 run for UMass Lowell, however. The losses during that stretch were to Merrimack, UMass and Central Connecticut.
Matched up against Central Connecticut on Saturday, the River Hawks were down by six points going into the second half. UMass Lowell got a little better from there but couldn’t close the gap in a 57-54 defeat. Quinton Mincey was the team’s top scorer with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Boson University Terriers
Over on the Boston side, they haven’t been able to win consecutive games yet this year. The Terriers started out with a losing streak to Northeastern, Rutgers and Howard and they’ve gone 4-4 in the eight games since. Boston has fallen to Davidson, Albany, Maine and Dartmouth in that stretch.
In their game versus Dartmouth last Wednesday, the Terriers scored 28 points in the first half and 28 more in the second for a tepid loss 63-56. Topping the team scoring was Ethan Okwuosa with 14 points and five rebounds. Miles Brewster added 13 points with three boards and two steals.
ANDREW’S FREE UMASS LOWELL VS BOSTON PREDICTION
I’ll probably just stay with UMass Lowell here. Granted, there’s not a lot to get excited about in this one. The River Hawks are coming off a listless loss to Central Connecticut, posting just 34.5 percent from the field and 21.1 percent (4-of-19) from 3-point range. UMass Lowell has scored a lot better than that this year however; they’d hit 68 or more points in every game prior.
As for Boston, they’ve hit 70 or more points in four of their last six games so they can score when they’re so motivated as well. That said, I don’t see the Terriers powering out a cover in this one. Should be a competitive game, though.
