The Philadelphia 76ers are playing some excellent basketball as of late as they have won 20 of their last 24 games in order to move into the No. 2 seed in the East with nine games to go for the All-Star break.
The Sixers are setting themselves up for a big stretch run leading into the postseason led by Joel Embiid and James Harden. The Sixers have been terrific on both ends as the chemistry with this group and the way they play has been established. However, there can still be improvements to the way the team plays.
The Sixers still have moments where the pace gets slowed and they turn the ball over to allow opposing teams to get back into games. Therefore, there need to be good habits built for the Sixers.
“I think playing the right way and being ourselves because we're talented enough to win games and, fortunately or unfortunately, we're talented enough to win games and not play the right way,” added Matisse Thybulle. “So doing it the right way and building the habits for playoffs I think is really the biggest thing for us at this point.”
It’s important for the Sixers to be able to build these good habits and get it done in the playoffs. There was already pressured upon them before the season began, but their sports neighbors, the Phillies, Eagles, and the Union of MLS, have all made it to the championship round of their respective sports.
Now, it’s on the Sixers to be the next team that reaches the finals.
“It’s funny that we’re talking about that now because we were also talking about it before the season started,” Thybulle added. “The pressure for us to do well is always there because everyone believed that—everything that happened was kind of like manifested by the fans like everyone believed that this was gonna happen and it did. I don’t think anything’s really changed.”
With that being said, Thybulle and the Sixers have a lot of confidence that they can get it done in the 2022-23 season.
“I think it’s amazing that like teams are living up to their potential,” he finished. “I think we’re just gonna be the next ones up after the Eagles win the Super Bowl.”
