The Memphis Grizzlies (12-8) visit the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves (10-11) on Wednesday with tip-off from Target Center set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
The Grizzlies are on 2-game winning streak after Sunday’s 127-123 win vs. the New York Knicks as half-point underdog. In that win it was G Ja Morant’s 27 points, along with all 4 other starters scoring in double figures, that carried the Grizzlies to that tough win in New York.
The Timberwolves are on a 3-game losing streak with their most recent loss Monday a 142-127 blowout against the Washington Wizards, That loss continued a season-long trend of Minnesota’s inability to stop any big man. Allowing C Kristaps Porzingis to drop 41 points while shooting 12-of-18 from the floor is unacceptable for this team that traded so much for former DPOY C Rudy Gobert.

Grizzlies at Timberwolves picks and predictions
Prediction
Grizzlies 121, Timberwolves 108
Moneyline
BET GRIZZLIES -140.
The Grizzlies are simply a better team than the Timberwolves, who have looked terrible to start the season. They will have no answer for Morant and his scoring ability and with the obvious chemistry issues for this team they will likely continue their streak of poor play.
Against the spread
LEAN GRIZZLIES -2.5 (-110).
Even with key injuries in this game the Grizzlies should be able to win. Many NBA fans are calling for the Timberwolves to trade key pieces due to the team’s underwhelming performance, and I expect that type of performance to continue. This team hasn’t looked good so far, with G D’Angelo Russell playing at his worst rate since his 2nd year in the league, and the front court playing terribly as well, expect the Grizzlies to win this game comfortably.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 231.5 (-105).
Neither of these teams are particularly great or terrible on either offense or defense, in fact both teams are close to the middle of the pack in both. Both teams have tremendous scoring potential, especially in their backcourts, but neither team has been able to score consistently. Based on averages alone the under is safer than the over, but it’s close. With the Grizzlies averaging 115.7 ppg and the Timberwolves averaging 114.6 these teams are averaging just under 231.5.
