Michael Jordan has spoken out following the protests that the black community is taking part in after the murder of George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer in Minneapolis.

Other NBA stars had already done so, other legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, his friend Stephen Jackson, or even one of today's standout players has led part of this movement.

The legendary player and now owner of the Hornets has issued this statement:

"I am deeply saddened, truly pained, and plain angry. I see and feel everyone's pain, outrage, and frustration. I stand with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of our color in this country. We have had enough. I don't have the answers, but our collective voices show strength and the inability to be divided by others. We must listen to each other, show compassion and empathy, and never turn our backs on senseless brutality. We need to continue peaceful expressions against injustice and demand accountability. Our unified voices need to put pressure on our leaders to change laws, or else we need to use our vote to create systematic change. Every one of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all. My heart goes out to George Floyd's family and to all the countless others whose lives have been brutally taken by acts of racism and injustice." (D)
