After the worst performance by the United States in a World Cup, Stephen Curry has come out to speak. He briefly spoke about the issue and also referred to Tokyo 2020.

In the Basketball World Cup, United States had their worst performance, finishing in seventh place. "All I can say is that you can't help but remember who you thought was going to war with you and who didn't", said Jerry Colangelo, president of USA Basketball, referring to the NBA players who refused to be called up.

However, one of those mentioned has spoken out. It is Stephen Curry, the point guard of the Golden State Warriors, although he didn't talk much about what happened in the World Cup. The Ohio native preferred to talk about the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

"I've never been on the Olympic team. I definitely want to go," Curry said in an interview with ESPN. "I've been on two teams that have won gold, but in world championships. The Olympics are the experience I want to live now and I really hope next year is like that. I knock on wood so that injuries don't appear," he added.

Regarding the World Cup, he was brief and said: "We are still the best. In Tokyo, if we bring together the players who are supposed to be there, it will be a good experience."

And why did the NBA players not want to compete in the World Cup? The final of this tournament was played last Sunday, just two weeks before the start of training for the 2019-2020 season. This would have caused many basketball players to reject the World Cup.
