All NBA franchises received a notification from the League explaining some possible changes in the rules of entry into the competition by rookie players, which would directly affect the draft and the age of players who can be chosen in it.
According to this circular, and based on what Zach Lowe (ESPN) has told, the 'one-and-done' rule that requires players to spend at least one year in the NCAA before making the jump to the NBA is in danger, or in other words, being 19 years old to be signed by a professional team in the League. For this, there is talk of the possible creation of training academies in the United States, similar to those that already exist in other countries on all five continents, as well as changes in the regulations of the G-League.
Finally, the option is raised that, starting in 2021, players may be able to jump directly from high school to the NBA again and the extension of the draft with a third round of selection.
