Raptors Extend Winning Streak with Victory over Knicks
The Toronto Raptors kept their winning pace this Sunday after a huge triumph two nights ago, as they crushed the New York Knicks 132-106 in their eighth consecutive victory, which is their best winning streak of the season.
The Raptors didn't slow down after defeating the Houston Rockets on Friday, who lead the league, in a game between teams at the top of their respective conferences. They maintained the advantage in the score for most of the match, despite their star player, DeMar DeRozan, only making four out of 16 field goal attempts and scoring only nine points.
But seven Raptors players finished with double-digit figures in the team's 15th win in 16 games. Toronto fell just one point short of their highest score of the season, set in a victory over Cleveland on January 11th.
Tim Hardaway Jr. ended with 25 points and Luke Kornet with 18 for the Knicks, who suffered their seventh consecutive loss and their 15th in the last 16 games.
Coach Dwane Casey highlighted to the Raptors in the morning that this match was deceiving, and he asked his players to forget about their victory over Houston and ignore the Knicks' record.
But none of that, or the game's schedule, slowed down Toronto, who connected on 50.5% of their field goal attempts.
