ACC positioning is on the line Wednesday when Virginia hosts Georgia Tech for a 7 p.m. ET tip. The Cavaliers are favored by 18 points, down 2.5 from the opening line. The over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 113, unchanged from the open.
Before locking in your picks for a game with such a large spread, you need to see what SportsLine's advanced computer model is picking.
Last season, the model was an impressive 755-636-20 on its A-rated picks, returning $6,529 to any $100 player who followed it.
That wasn't a fluke, either. With the NCAA Tournament just around the corner, the model is heating up this season as well, coming into the week on a blistering 12-6 run. It also nailed Kansas (-8.5) blowing out Oklahoma on Tuesday. Anybody who has been following those picks is way, way up.
Now the model has simulated Georgia Tech vs. Virginia 10,000 times and locked in against-the-spread, over-under and money-line picks.
We can tell you it is predicting an extremely low-scoring game with only 105 total points scored, meaning the under clears with plenty of room to spare.
And it also has a strong pick for one side of the spread that you can get only over at SportsLine.
The model has taken into account Virginia's elite defense, which leads the nation by allowing just 52.7 points per game.
No ACC opponent has been able to score more than 64 points against the Cavaliers as they've surged to a 13-1 conference record and a No. 1 national ranking. They've also been impressive against the spread, posting a 17-5 mark overall and a 16-4 record when favored.
But just because Virginia is so dominant doesn't mean it will be able to cover a massive 18-point spread.
Georgia Tech also has a tough defense that gives up just 67.2 points per game.
The Yellow Jackets have lost nine of their last 10 straight-up, but despite playing some of the nation's best teams during that stretch including Duke, Virginia and North Carolina, they only have one defeat of 18 points or more during that span.
So which side of Georgia Tech-Virginia do you need to be all over? Visit SportsLine now to find out which side of the Georgia Tech-Virginia spread you should be all over, all from the model that has crushed college hoops, and find out.
