Jackson out for 6 to 8 weeks

Reggie Jackson, point guard for the Detroit Pistons, will be out for six to eight weeks after suffering a grade three sprain in his right ankle.

Through their official website, Detroit confirmed Jackson's absence and stated that the player will be reevaluated after the designated recovery period assigned by doctors, so he could be inactive for longer than initially announced by the team.

The 27-year-old center injured himself last Tuesday in the third quarter of the game against the Indiana Pacers and had to be assisted off the court.

Originally from Pordenone, Italy, he is averaging 14.6 points and 5.5 assists per game this season and could miss at least 30 games for the rest of the season, putting Detroit's playoff qualification at risk.

Close comeback

The Golden State Warriors announced that Stephen Curry continues to make progress in his right ankle sprain and will be reevaluated.

Tomorrow will be the third evaluation on his ankle since he got injured on December 4th in New Orleans. He was evaluated two weeks after the sprain and then one week later, and now on Friday, before making a decision.
