Fletcher Magee scored 27 points to help Wofford stun No. 5 North Carolina 79-75 on Wednesday night, snapping the reigning national champion’s 23-game home winning streak.
The Terriers (8-4) led by as many as 14 points, then held off Carolina for their first win over a ranked team in 24 games.
“To bring a team in here and not only compete and fight and do some really good things — but win — holy cow, that’s a mouthful,” Wofford head coach Mike Young said.
North Carolina twice trimmed its deficit to a point and missed four three-point tries for the tie in the final six minutes.
“Bad movement, bad defense, bad coaching — we got fat and happy,” North Carolina head coach Roy Williams said. “It was a disgusting thing for me the entire game.”
Joel Berry II scored 23 points to lead North Carolina (10-2).
#4 Duke 104, Evansville 40: Wendell Carter scored 27 points and Marvin Bagley III added 18 points as the host Blue Devils (12-1) routed the Purple Aces (10-3). Duke blocked nine shots and forced 21 turnovers — which it turned into 39 points .
#10 West Virginia 77, Coppin State 38: Teddy Allen scored 24 points as the host Mountaineers (10-1) defeated the Eagles (0-12).
#18 Baylor 86, Southern 60: Manu Lecomte scored 22 points to lead the host Bears (10-2) past the Jaguars (3-9).
#21 Tennessee 66, Furman 61: Grant Williams sank the tie-breaking basket with 54 seconds left as the host Volunteers (8-2) held off the Paladins (9-4).
#23 Seton Hall 89, Wagner 68: In Newark, N.J., Khadeen Carrington scored 26 points as the Pirates (10-2) defeated the Seawolves (7-3).
#25 Creighton 116, South Carolina Upstate 62: Marcus Foster had 16 points to lead six Bluejays in double figures as host Creighton (10-2) rolled past the Spartans (4-11).
Utah 84, Northwestern State 62: Tyler Rawson and Justin Bibbins scored 25 points apiece to lead the host Utes (8-3) past the Demons (3-8).
Oregon 96, Central Arkansas 82: Payton Pritchard scored 24 points and the Ducks (10-3) shot 73 percent in the first half to take a 15-point lead against the Bears (6-7), who did not get closer than nine points in the second half.
Kansas State 68, Washington State 65: Barry Brown Jr. scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats (10-2) past the Cougars (7-4) in Spokane, Wash. Carter Skaggs had 24 points and Malachi Flynn 23 for Washington State.

St. Mary’s falls to host Purdue
St. Mary’s trimmed an 11-point halftime lead to four by hitting 12 of 14 shots in the third quarter, but the Gaels’ comeback came up short as they fell to host Purdue 70-60 in the championship game of the Basketball Travelers Inc. Invitational.
Karissa McLaughlin scored 17 points and Ae’Rianna Harris had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Boilermakers (9-5).
Sydney Raggio had 14 points and 10 rebounds for St. Mary’s (7-4).
San Jose State 89, Southern Oregon 87: Cyndi Lewis hit the winning basket with two seconds left in overtime as the host Spartans (3-8), despite failing to hold a 15-point halftime lead, edged the Raiders. Myzhanique Ladd scored 18 points to lead four San Jose State players in double figures against Southern Oregon, an NAIA school for which the game was an exhibition.
#2 Notre Dame 91, Marquette 85: Arike Ogunbowale scored 22 points and Marina Mabrey added 19 as the host Irish (11-1) edged the Golden Eagles (6-5) in overtime. Allazia Blockton led Marquette with 20 points and had 10 rebounds.
#3 Lousiville 62, Air Force 50: Myisha Hines-Allen scored 16 points to help the visiting Cardinals (14-0) defeat the Falcons (0-11).
#5 Mississippi State 103, UNLV 63: Teaira McCowan had 31 points and 15 rebounds and the Bulldogs (12-0) routed the host Rebels (5-5) on the first day of the Duel in the Desert.
#11 UCLA 67, Fordham 30: Jordin Canada scored 16 points and the visiting Bruins (9-2) built a 37-12 halftime lead in rolling over the Rams (7-4).
#17 Oregon State 61, UC Davis 47: Marie Gulich had 12 points and 12 rebounds to help the host Beavers (9-2) beat the Aggies (9-2). Morgan Bertsch scored 20 points for UC Davis.
Other Pac-12: Sadie Edwards scored 23 points to pace USC (10-1) to a 71-64 win over host Texas-Rio Grand Valley (10-5). ... Kat Wright hit a three-pointer with eight seconds left in the second overtime to lift host Arizona (4-7) to a 76-74 win over Southern Utah (1-10). ... Mai-Loni Henson scored seven of her 16 points in overtime as host Washington (6-5) — which sank 12 free throws in the extra period — prevailed 84-76 over Seattle (6-7).
