The Revolución Stadium: A Historic Landmark in Torreón

On September 15, 1907, Torreón went from being a town to acquiring city status. In 1932, as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the place, the then governor of the state of Coahuila, Nazario Silvestre Ortiz Garza, inaugurated what is now the oldest professional baseball stadium: The Revolución Stadium.

Initially, the facilities were not exclusive to "The King of Sports." There were spaces behind the fence for the practice of other sports such as basketball, soccer, boxing, volleyball, among other cultural activities.

In 2003, they changed their name to Vaqueros Laguna, with orange as their distinctive color.

In the 1930s, baseball began to gain strength in La Laguna, but it wasn't until 1940 that the Mexican Baseball League arrived in the region and El Revolución became the home of the Algodoneros del Unión Laguna.

In 2003, they changed their name to Vaqueros Laguna, with orange as their distinctive color.

However, after a journey of ups and downs, for the 2017 season they decided to change the nickname to Vaqueros Unión Laguna, as well as the distinctive colors, returning to the maroon they used since their foundation in 1940, due to a change in management.

Despite experiencing highs and lows in the early seasons when they joined the summer baseball circuit, the Revolución Stadium is currently the oldest stadium still in operation.

Today, the stadium is used for baseball and musical events. In the case of baseball, it has the widest foul area in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), as a result of the previously existing athletics track.
