5000 Meters Bengalas Race to Take Place in Torreón
Athletes from the national championship will be present at the third edition of the 5000 Meters Bengalas Race, which will take place this Friday at the Torreón Sports Unit track.
This was announced by Daniel Ortiz Pérez, director of the Bengalas Athletics Club, who made this activity known at a press conference held on Wednesday morning at the club's facilities.
Alina Garza Herrera, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, was present, as well as Manuel Torres, a member of the Bengalas Club.
To participate, it is required to have established marks by the organizing committee, which are 16:20 for men and 21:30 for women.
A total of the top 25 male athletes and an equal number of female athletes will be present, in what has become an interesting competition due to the high level of its participants.
The men's race will start at 9:30 am and the women's race will start at 10:00 am.
Ortiz Pérez reported that registrations are open, and the cost is 60 pesos, and they can register at the Bengalas Club, located at Joaquín Moreno Street #302 South.
Ortiz Pérez informed that the top five finishers in each category will be awarded as follows: 1200 pesos for first place, 1000 pesos for second place, 800 pesos for third place, 600 pesos for fourth place, and 400 pesos for fifth place.
He explained that to participate, it is required to have established marks by the organizing committee, which are 16:20 for men and 21:30 for women. Times on the track, certified races, or route races that the organizing committee considers as exact routes will be taken into account.
The organizer indicated that citizen and residents athletes from Torreón who meet the minimum required marks can participate.
The judges for this competition will be appointed by the organizing committee, and their decision will be final.
