Kimberly García Wins Second Gold Medal in World Athletics Championships
Kimberly García (28) made history by winning her second gold medal in the World Athletics Championships, after triumphing in the 35-kilometer racewalk competition held in Oregon, United States.
Originally from Huancayo, Kimberly García achieved a time of 2h39:16, defeating Polish athlete Katarzyna Zdzieblo and Shijie Qieyang, who took home the silver and bronze medals.

García had previously won the top accolade in the 20-kilometer racewalk with a time of 1h26:58 - a national record. "My victory will show you that nothing is impossible. The journey has been long, tough, and full of sacrifices, but it is a path that I love," said the Peruvian athlete to an international media outlet.
