Usain Bolt, the former athletics superstar, became a father for the first time as his partner, Kasi Bennett, gave birth to a baby girl, according to the Jamaican press on Monday.
Jamaican Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, confirmed the birth on social media.
"Congratulations to sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their little girl," wrote Holness on Twitter.
Local media reported that the couple's daughter was born on Sunday, but no further details have been announced yet.
Bolt, who is 33 years old, had revealed in March through social media that he was expecting a daughter with Bennett. He jokingly warned future suitors to stay away from her.
