Peruvian Paola Mautino ranked ninth in the long jump after three attempts. However, she missed the chance to compete in the final round of the Pan American Games 2019 as only the top eight qualified for the medal challenge.
In her first attempt, Paola Mautino jumped 6.02 meters; while in her second opportunity she dropped to 5.85. The Peruvian closed her participation with 6.30 meters.
With 6.30 meters as her best record, Mautino ranked ninth in the event, just one spot away from competing in the final round of the Pan American Games 2019. Only the top eight qualified for the medal challenge.
Nevertheless, Paola Mautino was the second best South American athlete in the event. Only behind Colombian Caterine Ibarguen, who qualified for the final with a jump of 6.54 meters.
