Inés Melchor won the gold medal in the 10,000 meters at the Bolivarian Games 2017 held in Santa Marta.
The renowned long-distance runner achieved a time of 33:57.13, defeating her compatriot, Luz Mery Rojas, who achieved 33:59.5. Carmen Martínez from Paraguay won the bronze medal.
In this way, Peru has won 27 gold medals, 41 silver medals, and 51 bronze medals, totaling 119 medals to date in the Bolivarian Games.
