Mexican Army Athletes Excel at Mexico City Half Marathon

The Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) congratulated Juan Luis Barrios Nieves and Eloy Sánchez Vidal, members of the Mexican Army and Air Force high-performance athlete team, who obtained first and third place, respectively, in the XI Edition of the Mexico City Half Marathon.

In a statement, the department highlighted that Barrios Nieves has participated in various national and international competitions, such as the National Road Championship in San Jose, Costa Rica, in 2016, and the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, in 2014.

In both sporting events, he achieved first place, "demonstrating the valor and gallantry that characterize the Mexican soldier," emphasized SEDENA.

Similarly, Sánchez Vidal has achieved a position among the top three in different national sporting events.

SEDENA reiterated its commitment to promote sports among Mexican youth.
