The 9th Round of Clausura 2017 Leaves Several Injured Players
Several players were injured during the 9th round of Clausura 2017 in actions that were not well qualified by the referees, plays involving skillful elements that will be out of activity for a long time. It happened to América with Renato Ibarra, who suffered a fractured fibula due to a tackle from Andrés Andrade; however, Michael Arroyo, Ecuadorian forward of the Eagles, considered that these actions are not malicious between colleagues in the profession.
"It is very sad because he is a very important player, besides being a fellow countryman, we are all very sad because he is a player that contributes a lot to the group and to the team, but I think God knows why he does things and now we will have to support him to recover soon", said Arroyo about Ibarra's injury, who will be out of activity for three months.
Michael gave his point of view on the tackles suffered by skillful players in games and considered that "it is not with bad intention and I do not believe that another player would want to harm another player, because we are professional people, I think it is more due to a mistimed tackle".
The Ecuadorian forward assured that the team made their effort on Saturday to seek victory in their match against León, in which they played more than 70 minutes with one more man, but things did not go as they intended and now they are focused on seeking their qualification to the quarterfinals of the Cup, when they face Xolos de Tijuana on Wednesday at Caliente stadium.
On the other hand, Cecilio Domínguez has already trained with the rest of the team, but initially the Ecuadorian forward would return to activity until the game against Necaxa in Round 10 of Liga MX. In addition, Edson Álvarez has reported to the team after his participation in the U-20 pre-world cup.
