The Minister of the Interior, Carlos Basombrío, in recent weeks focused his attention on sports events and this Sunday he spoke on the program A Todo Gol of RPP Noticias about the complaint that the PNP will make against Sport Boys for not complying with the suspension of the match. He also confessed that an official of the Peruvian Institute of Sport is involved in that decision.
"Unfortunately, a sports official of the State, an official of the IPD, was involved in this. That will be included in the complaint. (He was involved) trying to get the show to go on despite the ban," said Carlos Basombrío without specifying the person's name.
"For me, it is very serious and in that sense we have the policy in the Ministry that if we catch a bad element in our ranks, we report it. So we will not hesitate to do it," the minister explained firmly during the interview.
Not with the hooligans. The minister also took the time to make it clear that no group of official fan clubs asked to meet with him (as happened with congresswoman Luciana León). Not only that, but he ruled it out because they are people who were against the Law at some point.
"I do not meet with violent people to talk. I can meet with club directors, with Mr. Oyarce who has an organization for peace in football. When a group of society violates the law, I do not negotiate with them," he concluded.
