Nairo Quintana
Nairo Quintana is satisfied with the first week of the Tour de France, trailing British cyclist Chris Froome, the general leader and strongest cyclist according to the leader of the Movistar team.
"It is clear that there are four favorites, but I knew that Froome would be very strong and he has been proving it. I think he is currently the strongest," he said after finishing third with his team in the collective time trial of the Tour.
Regarding the first week's balance, Quintana regretted losing one and a half minutes in the first stage after getting left behind. "I hope that little by little we can recover that time. Today we have recovered some time against some rivals. In the mountains, we have to try to recover more," he assured.
The Colombian athlete expressed his satisfaction with the Movistar team's time trial between Vannes and Plumelec.
"Being on par with time trial specialists is very good. We have specialists on the team who were rolling very well and we helped where the terrain favored us. We lost by a small margin but we gained an advantage over other rivals," he commented.
