Chelsea defeated Swansea 3-0 with goals from Cesc Fàbregas, Pedro Rodríguez, and Diego Costa.

The Chelsea, thank to the goals of the Spanish internationals Cesc Fàbregas, Pedro Rodríguez and Diego Costa, defeated Swansea (3-1) this Saturday at home and took another step towards the Premier League title.

The men of Antonio Conte earned three golden points against the renewed Swansea of Paul Clement to extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points with only 12 league matches remaining.

After the 1-1 draw at Turf Moor against Burnley in the last round, a result that had given wings to their closest pursuers, Chelsea fulfilled expectations this Saturday and returned to the path of victory, practically sealing the Premier League.

Fàbregas, in his 300th game in the top English football category, was responsible for opening the scoring in the 19th minute by volleying into the back of the net a good cross from Pedro coming from the right after a great triangle with Hazard.

The surprise came in stoppage time of the first half. When everything was ready for Frank Lampard's tribute at halftime, Spanish Fernando Llorente silenced Stamford Bridge with an imperial header that brought temporary parity to the scoreboard.

The Swansea's number 9 escaped his marker and headed the ball into the back of the net from a free-kick taken by the Icelander Sigurdsson, equalizing the match and celebrating his ninth goal in the league.

In the second half, the home team launched an attack led by an inspired Pedro and an electric Hazard. The Belgian scared the visitors in the first minute after the break with a good shot that Fabianski saved, and shortly after, a post prevented the second goal for the blues by repelling a shot from Fàbregas.

Pedro, with the invaluable collaboration of Fabianski, put Chelsea ahead in the 72nd minute, shortly after the referee did not see a clear penalty in favor of Swansea for a handball by Azpilicueta inside the box.

The Spanish footballer received a ball from Cesc and faced the defense, moving inside and released a left-footed shot from outside the box that slipped under the Polish goalkeeper. Pedro has scored 8 goals in the last 11 matches and undoubtedly calls for a place in the Spanish national team.

The definitive 3-1 did not come until the final stretch. In the 84th minute, Costa arrived on time to score by first-time finishing a magnificent run down the left by Hazard to seal the match and tally his sixteenth goal in the current league.

With this victory, and with 12 rounds remaining in the 2016/2017 Premier League, Conte's pupils accumulate 63 points, 11 more than their immediate pursuer, Manchester City, who has played one game less.
