Rolando Blackburn is officially the new player of Sporting Cristal, the celestials announced through their social media the arrival of the Panamanian to the team. The popular 'toro' has signed a 6-month contract, but the club has the option to purchase all rights to the player.
Since his arrival, the player has not said much to the press, the little that is known about him is that one of his main reasons for deciding to sign with Sporting Cristal was his upcoming participation in the Copa Libertadores. Rolando Blackburn is highly motivated.
"I am very happy to be here in Peru and be part of this great institution like Sporting Cristal, I am grateful for the welcome from the fans and the coaching staff. Did I watch Peruvian football? Yes, what motivated me to come was the Copa Libertadores, that gives me a lot of motivation and now I am here, grateful to God," said Panamanian Rolando Blackburn to the program La Sobremesa of Radio Ovación.
And the team?
"It is a very professional team, the training sessions are intense and that is important for one to prepare for what is to come. We are working hard to achieve our objectives, which are quite clear," he said.
His family is about to come:
"My family is coming next week, I am quite calm about that. The treatment from the people has been very nice, they have welcomed me in the best way and I am grateful for that. Therefore, I hope to adapt as quickly as possible to give my best to the team and repay the fans for all the affection," he said.
"I am a 9 in the area but I can also play on the sides, but I like to be in the area," he said.
