Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United Battle for the Colombian Defender Jeison Murillo
Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are reportedly engaged in a tight battle to secure the services of Jeison Murillo (24 years old), a Colombian center-back who is about to complete his second season with Inter Milan (currently with 53 Serie A matches and 2 goals).
Although these Premier League clubs have a significant economic potential and allure, Inter's board is not concerned about the player's future. They believe that negotiations for an extension and improvement are going well and will yield results in a short period of time.
With the signing of the Colombian center-back, these three British teams aim to resolve their defensive issues, which have caused troubles for their respective coaches. In fact, the vulnerability of their defense is the reason behind the inconsistent performances of the two Manchester teams in the Premier League and Arsenal's defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16 first leg.
Murillo, who came up through the youth ranks of Deportivo Cali, had spells at Udinese, Cadiz, Granada, and UD Las Palmas before joining Inter Milan. He has shown great defensive strength and the ability to play the ball with clarity.
