Rafa Benítez and his new squad completed the first of two training sessions scheduled for Saturday, the second day of preparations held at the Ciudad Real Madrid training complex.
During the first session, which kicked off at 10am (CET), Benítez split the players into two groups. The Madrid squad worked on possession and mobility before participating in various games with shorter goals, working on pressing and passing precision while keeping up the same levels of intensity.
The session also welcomed a special guest: Plácido Domingo. An honorary member of the club, the Spanish tenor visited the training facilities and watched the training session unfold before greeting the coaching staff and players.
The second training session is due to be held at 7pm.
