President Joan Collet arrived on Saturday afternoon in Vielha. The Pericos team is concentrated there, with Kiko Casilla among its ranks. Despite the existing agreement between the goalkeeper and Real Madrid for his transfer, Collet assured that the white club has only presented an offer, clearly insufficient for Espanyol: "Four million is undervaluing the player and undervaluing Espanyol. I do not consider it."
In this way, President Collet puts pressure on Madrid to increase its proposal to six million, the amount for which the operation will be closed. "If the offer doesn't change, I won't sit down to talk," Collet concluded, assuming that Madrid will not come close to the ten million that mark the goalkeeper's release clause. "The clause is rarely fulfilled. We would like it to be that way, but we are open to negotiation." The maximum authority of Espanyol will meet this Saturday at the concentration hotel in Vielha with Casilla himself, who renewed a year ago ("his salary was greatly improved"), thanks to which he will leave those six million in the treasury instead of leaving for free.
Collet also referred to Cristhian Stuani, another player who is very close to leaving Espanyol. Middlesbrough managed by Aitor Karanka will be his destination for three million euros, of which Espanyol will end up receiving around 300,000 euros: half of his rights belong to Reggina, to which the Espanyol club also owes another 1.2 million. "The transfer is quite advanced," he admitted.
But neither Casilla nor Stuani will be the last to leave Espanyol. "Two or three offers have been received for Thievy Bifouma, with one from outside Spain being the best," although the forward's priority is Granada. Carlos Clerc is very close to a loan deal with Girona, as long as the red and white club matches other offers for the second division side and renews for another season, as their contract ends in 2016. Among the possible arrivals, he admitted that he "likes" Gerard Moreno and did not confirm or deny interest in Jonathas de Jesús.
Finally, the president of Espanyol revealed that the amount Real Madrid paid for the purchase of Lucas Vázquez amounts to 2.5 million, and not just one, as had been published. Additionally, the club will keep 25% of a future sale of the winger for the next two years. Good economic news, as the new television contract supposes for Collet: "They will give us 40 or 50% more than what we are currently receiving."
