Miguel Jiménez, backup goalkeeper, will make his debut in the Copa MX against Atlante.

Chivas entrusts the goal to Rodolfo Cota

With Toño Rodríguez's departure to León, the Sacred Herd entrusted the red and white goal to Rodolfo Cota as the starting goalkeeper, Miguel Jiménez as the substitute, and Toño Torres as the third goalkeeper of Chivas. Now, as Chivas debuts in the Copa MX against Atlante, Miguel Jiménez, also known as 'Guacho', is ready for the challenge and assures the fans that he will give his all for the team.

"Rest assured, I will give everything for this jersey as I always have. The fans can be relaxed on that side," Jiménez said.

Jiménez, who is 26 years old, understands that it is time to push himself and try to accumulate minutes in the Copa MX and the Liga MX. However, he also acknowledges the importance of patience, knowing that being a goalkeeper requires composure and not getting desperate for opportunities. He believes that if he works hard, his chance will come.

"Impatience leads to failure. I have been very patient, I trust in my work, I have always worked in the best way possible. Tomorrow, the opportunity to show myself presents itself, and God willing, it will be the best way. I am very grateful to the coaching staff and Chivas because, thank God, I was given the opportunity to be the second goalkeeper. In previous tournaments, I had been playing, but not as the second goalkeeper. It is an opportunity that I have to respond to on the field. Tomorrow, I want to do it in the best way," Jiménez stated.

When asked if he is waiting for an injury to Rodolfo Cota to debut in the Primera División, Jiménez stated that he does not wish that upon anyone. He wants to play because he earned the position on the field, not due to a red card.

"I don't wish that upon anyone. I am not that type of person. I have endured a lot and I have known how to wait. It will not be an exception. Now, it is my turn to be the second goalkeeper. I think I will do it in the right way, pushing Cota to continue doing things as he has been. One dreams. I had the opportunity to play in the Copa MX, which excited me a lot. I have many more goals to fulfill, another one is to start tomorrow, to start well, and why not play in the Liga MX," he expressed.

Chivas will face Atlante's Potros de Hierro on Tuesday and Jiménez clarified that he doesn't feel nervous or anything of the sort. He feels privileged to defend the Chivas jersey.

"It is a challenge, I don't see it as pressure. It is a privilege. I am fortunate to be here, and I have to make the most of it," he concluded.
