Mexican rejoneador apologizes for mistreating his horse
Emiliano Gamero, a Mexican rejoneador who was caught hitting one of his horses during a performance in Durango, publicly apologized for his behavior towards the animal and emphasized that his horses are "my legs and the love of my life".
After facing a storm of criticism following the video's publication, in which he whipped and kicked one of his horses, the Mexico City rider released a video where he apologizes to the mistreated horse "from the bottom of his heart".
"I make this video with deep regret, my soul is pained, I regret taking such a foolish and reprehensible attitude. I have no reasons to justify myself, I just want to offer a sincere apology", said Emiliano at first.
Then he referred to the horse that was assaulted and to his whole team in general:
"From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to all the horses, to my horse, to whom I unjustifiably mistreated," he added.
In addition to addressing his passion, he also responded to all those who, with annoyance, have criticized his behavior.
"I understand that you are furious and I hope you can forgive me. I am not perfect and will never be, but I have learned a great lesson. My horses are my legs, they are the love of my life."
