Necaxa takes advantage of home field and defeats the current champion of the Liga MX 2-1

The first few minutes of the first half passed by with neither team getting involved in the match. It wasn't until after the first five minutes that Hirving Lozano sent the first shot that didn't bother Marcelo Barovero.

In the first 10 minutes, neither team generated any dangerous plays. It wasn't until the 59th minute that Manuel Iturra unleashed a shot, but it went wide.

In the 60th minute, the first substitution for the home team came, Fernando Meza replaced Marcos González, who came off due to an injury.

Pachuca continued to press and in a corner kick play, they gave their first warning, with Omar González's shot going wide; although in the 66th minute, Víctor Guzmán shot from outside the area to equalize the score at the Victoria Stadium.

Despite this, the Rayos continued to insist, as they were aware that a victory at home would make their stay in Hidalgo more comfortable. In the clearest play of the second half, with a great play from Edson Puch down the right wing, evading the marking of the visitor's defenders, he crossed the ball to Riaño, who only had to finish towards the goal to make it 2-1.

Before the end of the match, tempers flared and a scuffle broke out between the players, but it didn't escalate as the central referee controlled the situation.

Despite the attempts of the team led by Diego Alonso, they were unable to equalize the score and now they will have to win in order to continue defending their title, but a goal from the Rayos could end their search for the consecutive championship.
