Rafael Benítez prepares for Real Madrid's pre-season
Rafael Benítez, coach of Real Madrid, shows off his reputation as a hard worker and continues with his thorough preparation for the team's pre-season. The team will gather tomorrow as part of their training phase in Melbourne.
The Madrid coach wants to leave no stone unturned before receiving his players. Although he still has many doubts about who will be under his command starting this Thursday, Benitez is finalizing all the details to complete a competitive team.
The Real Madrid coach has held several meetings with all the departments of the club to have everything ready when the starting signal is given. First, he will meet with his men, and on Friday, the entire squad will undergo the relevant medical tests.
The official website of the white club published today images of the Real Madrid coach in his office, preparing with his computers the plans he has in mind for the first training sessions of the pre-season.
Just hours before returning to work, Benítez has received good news amidst all the chaos that Real Madrid seems unable to resolve. Dani Carvajal has committed himself to the team today and has renewed his contract until 2020.
The academy graduate is extending his contract and will compete with Danilo for the right-back position. It was an expected renewal and it is possible that Marcelo Vieira's contract will also be announced shortly.
However, Benítez still has several loose ends to resolve. Especially two, those related to Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos. The first one seems to be just finalizing his signing with Porto and there is no news about the second one regarding his stay at Real Madrid or a change to a new team due to a failure to reach an agreement on his renewal.
Meanwhile, other new faces could appear in the club, although the possible arrival of David De Gea or Kiko Casilla still has no date and these two potential signings could still be delayed or even not happen in the end. All of that, Rafael Benítez surely has it under control, as he does not rest for a minute in his pursuit of successfully coaching Real Madrid.
