Yaquis defeat Charros in the first game of the series

In a game where baseball fans were the most grateful, Ciudad Obregon defeated Jalisco 10-7 in the first game of the series at Charros Panamericano Stadium in Zapopan.

Just at the beginning of the game, Carlos Valencia produced the first run for the visitor.

In the second inning, the score started moving constantly. The Jalisco team responded with a triple by Alberto Carreon that pushed Gabriel Quintana and Alan Espinoza to take a 2-1 lead.

The visitors responded with another comeback in the third inning after a home run by Chapis Valencia that drove Rosario. In the same inning, Mazzola hit a single that took advantage of Jose Manuel Rodriguez, who was already on third base after a hit by Jesus Valdez, for the 3-3 tie.

The visitor continued to respond. Wimberly reached home on a hit by Wendle to go back on top, but only for a few minutes, as with the home team at bat, Alan Espinoza scored after a deception by the umpire following an incorrect play by the visiting team.

In the sixth and seventh innings, Yaquis took a three-run lead after runs by Wendle, Valencia, and Araiza. The home team didn't surrender. Mazzola brought Manny and Quintana to home plate with a double, and Quintana did the same with Mazzola and Cacao for the 7-7 tie that brought joy to the local crowd.

But then came former Charro Leo Heras, who with a hit drove Rosario to take the lead again, which would grow after a wild pitch by Ivan Salas and a sacrifice by Valenzuela that Heras took advantage of.

In the last two innings, the Charros' bats didn't react to declare the defeat.

For today's game, Mexican-American Terance Marin will make his debut on the Jalisco mound and will face pitcher Arturo Lopez, on behalf of the Yaquis.

A NEW CHARRO

Jalisco Charros announced that Cuban outfielder Henry Urrutia is a new member of the club, coming from the Venezuelan league. The baseball player thanked the opportunity given and is expected to join in the next few days.
