New York Marathon
The New York Marathon, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in this edition, was honored with the victory of a Mexican among its ranks.
Victor Manuel Fernandez, 65, was crowned champion in the Big Apple after finishing the competition in a time of three hours, five minutes and 50 seconds, beating Swiss runner Battesta Albin (three hours, 20 minutes and 17 seconds), his closest rival in the race, by fifteen minutes.
The podium was completed by Japanese runner Akira Uchida, who finished in three hours, 22 minutes and 48 seconds.
