Tri Women's Hockey Team Eliminated from Winter Olympics

A lack of success in the second phase of the Pre-Olympic Women's Hockey Tournament held in Astana, Kazakhstan has ended Mexico's hopes of qualifying for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics. They lost 3-1 against the home team.

Mexico did not start their match against Kazakhstan in the best way. In the first two periods, the national team constantly faced opposition from the home team, who took the lead with goals from Kartanbayeva, Felzink, and Ashimova.

The team led by Diego de la Garma reacted during the final period, with a goal from María Chávez reviving their hopes. However, it was too late and time ran out, resulting in a final score of 3-1.

With this result, the Mexican team is virtually eliminated as the defeats against Great Britain and Kazakhstan have left them with no chance of advancing in the competition.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is dominating the tournament with two wins (4-1 against Poland and 3-1 against Mexico), while Poland and Great Britain have each won one game.

There will be a rest day at the Astana Arena tomorrow, but the action will resume on Sunday. Mexico will seek to end the tournament with a victory against Poland. The match will kick off at 12:00 am (Mexico time).
