The Ourense Basketball Club has announced today that the City Council and the Provincial Council show their support for the club and sign the necessary guarantee for Abanca, the banking entity that carries out its proceedings, to accept the proposed loan to obtain the money needed for promotion to the Endesa League. Therefore, pending the completion of the bank transfer to the ACB, the Galician team would have confirmed its promotion to the first division of Spanish basketball.

Since they climbed onto the court by defeating Breogán in the promotion playoffs, the Galician team has been trying to obtain the money for registration and budget in every possible way. "Now the real playoffs begin," Gavilanes warned a few days ago in an interview with AS. The Provincial Council committed from the beginning to pay part of the registration fee and budget, while the club had reached agreements with a group of private companies in the city, but it was still necessary for the City Council, the majority shareholder of COB (23%, the same as the Provincial Council), to contribute what was missing.

"With caution and not 100%, but with a high percentage," Gavilanes summed up the promotion options last Thursday. But since the new local government was not formed until this Saturday, the procedures to support (or not) the basketball team have been on hold until today, the deadline for submitting all the documentation to the ACB. Finally, the club and local entities have reached an agreement, and only the official confirmation from the Endesa League (receipt of transfers, etc.) is pending for Ourense to be able to confidently say that the Ourense Basketball Club will play in the Endesa League next season.
