Jesús Corona admits frustration and impotence from Cruz Azul's poor results

Jesús Corona, goalkeeper for Cruz Azul, acknowledged that the team did not know how to respond to their former coach Tomás Boy and the poor results obtained have left them with a feeling of frustration that causes them sports embarrassment and impotence.

"We couldn't respond to Tomas, we couldn't support him on the field, I think we owe it to him and we are aware that we have to support the new coach, but things weren't going well and even though each of us gave our best," he said.

In a press conference at La Noria, Corona pointed out that with the results not coming, Cruz Azul is currently in a state of desperation and impotence, but they will fight until the end for a possible playoffs spot.

"We are in a moment of desperation because the team works during the week, gives everything on the field, does the best possible things, but the results have not been favorable. It has been seen that we work and in that sense, I am calm," he added.

He mentioned that there is a feeling of impotence for not being able to meet the short, medium and long-term goals, combined with the fact that there have been several coaches in the institution and they are very close to missing out on another playoffs.

"There is impotence that you cannot meet the short, medium and long-term goals and each one will have to analyze whether they have failed to contribute at their moment in order to start correcting this situation," he stated.

He pointed out that the group feels sports embarrassment for not being able to fulfill those objectives that were set at the beginning of the tournament, and they will try to give their all on the field and give a chance to a homegrown coach.

About the match against Guadalajara, in Joaquín Moreno's debut once again as interim coach, he said that they will go for the result by any means necessary against an opponent who arrives highly motivated by their qualification to the Copa Mx final, and they will demonstrate the quality of Cruz Azul's squad.

"Chivas comes in better spirits because they advanced to the final in the Copa, and that is crucial, but we have a great squad and quality players. We are going to have a great match, we need to earn points, and we will achieve it by any means necessary," he concluded.
