Tennis Talent Promotion at the Mexican Open in Acapulco
As part of the promotion of young talent in national tennis, Mextenis, the company that organizes the Mexican Open in Acapulco, will grant a wildcard to the best Mexican competitor in the tournament that will take place from November 14th to 20th in Mexico City.
In this regard, Raúl Zurutuza, CEO of Mextenis, pointed out that this is the "first grain of sand," as the company is interested in further supporting the development of tennis in our country.
"We are very interested in having more participation not only in the professional field, we do it well and undoubtedly we need this step of having greater involvement with the development processes that CONADE and the federation have, and that will happen," he said.
In addition, Zurutuza assured that this wildcard is a big step, as it will give the winner "the opportunity to gain experience in the big leagues."
"Acapulco is usually a very tough qualification. The experience for these young players will be very good," he emphasized.
Regarding the Acapulco Open, the director of Mextenis pointed out that there is a "great responsibility to the public," so the inclusion of top players is just "providing the tools for people to have a good time."
Regarding Nadal's return, Zurutuza assured that the Spanish player "is a great friend of the tournament," so the negotiation with him took place "practically over a cup of coffee."
