Granada is interested in the new James Rodríguez

The young Elias Aguilar, nicknamed the new James Rodríguez, has caught the attention of Granada. Aguilar, who was named the best player of the 14-15 championship in Costa Rica, is a left-footed midfielder with great ball control and a powerful shot. Experts in international football believe he could join the Spanish League this season. Not only Granada is interested in him, but also Málaga and Sevilla are following his steps and could bid strongly to have him in their ranks. Aguilar, 23 years old, led Herediano of Costa Rica to the title in the last edition of the championship and is determined to make the leap to Spanish football.

His representation agency's intention is to find him a one-year loan in order to make himself known in European elite football and secure him a great contract the following year. JM Soccer, the agency that leads his steps, has set a price for his loan as well as his salary: the loan costs €350,000 and his salary is €300,000, amounts that are affordable for any team in the First Division. In this type of operation, Granada's sporting director tries to include a purchase option in the contract to be enforced in case the player excels wearing the red and white jersey, as happened, for example, with Yacine Brahimi, who arrived on loan from the French club Rennes and then stayed thanks to a clause in the contract after paying €2.8 million.

The preseason begins on Thursday

Granada starts the preseason this Thursday at the new red and white sports city, located on the road to Jun, next to the Faculty of Sport. Sandoval and his coaching staff will also accompany the players from the first day, starting with the medical examinations. It is expected that several players from the subsidiary team will start working with the first team, and other players whose immediate future is to leave on loan will also start training under the orders of the Madrid-born coach, such as Darwin Machís.
