Transfer News

Thievy Bifouma's Absence

As expected, Thievy Bifouma did not show up on Monday for the start of the 2015-16 season with Espanyol. However, the club has granted him a special permission to resolve his departure shortly. If by Wednesday he hasn't found a club that satisfies both him and Espanyol (who intends to receive a transfer fee), the Franco-Congolese player will have to join the team in Vielha (Val d'Aran) for their preseason stay.

Sergio Tejera and Carlos Clerc

Unlike Thievy, Espanyol has devised a strategy to buy time and avoid another controversial situation and fine for indiscipline with these two players who also didn't show up at the training. The club has given their consent. Sergio Tejera is expected to join Nàstic de Tarragona, while there is interest from Tenerife for Carlos Clerc.

Preseason Begins

All the other players, except Cristhian Stuani (who participated in the Copa America) and Héctor Moreno (currently recovering from an injury), have started their preseason on Monday morning. They underwent medical check-ups and fitness tests at Ciudad Deportiva, CAR de Sant Cugat, and Creu Blanca clinic. In the afternoon, they are scheduled to have their first training session together in Sant Adrià.
