Liverpool boss Arne Slot says he misses several things from his time with Feyenoord in the Netherlands but the Reds head coach is loving life at Anfield too.

The midweek Champions League victory over Girona was Slot's 19th win out of 22 matches in charge of Liverpool and things have gone very well for the Dutchman up to now. But he says he does miss some things from Rotterdam too.

"The people, the people I worked with," Slot said when he was asked about what he misses about his former club. "I hate to say this but it’s true, the fans as well. They’ve been really good for me.

"This is something I never did at Feyenoord, to try to make myself popular by giving them compliments. They’ve been outstanding for me. The people I worked with at Feyenoord I definitely miss, and the players as well because you build a relationship with them.

"I am very happy over here, the staff are so good to me, the players as well. But when you work somewhere for three years, you win a few things, it’s normal that you miss them as well."

Liverpool is leading the way in both the Premier League and the Champions League under Slot's guidance. The Reds take on Fulham next at Anfield, hoping for another three points to further cement their position at the summit of the table.

Liverpool.com says: The more you learn about the relationship Slot had with the Feyenoord fans, the more he seems like the ideal fit for replacing Jurgen Klopp. That appears to be the way things are panning out for him with Liverpool so far, with the results going well and the 46-year-old coming across very well every time he speaks.
