A wide receiver injury could throw another wrench in the Pittsburgh Steelers' trade plans at wide receiver. After the team lost out on a target in Christian Kirk due to a broken collarbone, Mike Williams could be off the table after the New York Jets lost wide receiver Allen Lazard due to a chest injury.
Lazard was placed on injured reserve and will now miss the next four games. The Jets, who are in win-now mode, will evaluate how Williams fits into the offense and whether he can still contribute to the team. However, it will likely depend on whether the team can defeat the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.
If they win, they are likely to retain Williams. However, if they lose, the Steelers could be the team to swoop in and acquire Williams. Williams has interest from the Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers, but the Jets have hesitated to trade Williams away for scraps while they view themselves as a contender.
